VACANCY

The University is inviting suitably qualified candidates to apply for the following positions tenable at its campuses in Gaborone, Francistown and Maun;

PURPOSE OF THE JOB

The Instructional Designers are required to create and deliver educational and learning materials to diverse learners in a variety of ways from traditional print materials, such as manuals, to eLearning technologies and multimedia.

KEY FUNCTIONS

Among others, the Instructional Designers shall be expected to perform the following duties:
. Create engaging learning activities and compelling course content across faculties and campuses.
. Work with subject matter experts to identify the learners training needs.
. Set instructional end goals and create content that matches them.
. Analyse and apply trends and best practices in learning technologies and instructional design.
. Provide exercises and activities that enhance the learning process
. Create supporting material/media (audio, videos, simulations, role-plays, games, etc) so on.
. Assist teaching staff across campuses in implementation, monitoring and continuous feedback of the LMS, Blended Learning and other elearning teaching pedagogies.

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCES AND SKILLS

Candidates must possess an MA Degree in Instructional, Educational Technology or a related field from an accredited higher education institution.
. At least 4 years’ experience as an Instructional Designer at a higher institution of learning.
. In-depth knowledge of learning theories and instructional design models.
. Lesson and curriculum planning skills.
. Basic HTML and Flash Programming Knowledge.
. Visual design skills (Photoshop, illustration and so on).
. Ability to use effective copy, instructional text, audio and video scripts.
. Excellent communication skills
. Knowledgeable in emerging technologies and trends in a higher institution of learning.
. Excellent Team work skills
. Strong written and oral communication skills (English).
