AFGRI Equipment Botswana, a premier provider of integrated agricultural solutions, seeks to appoint a highly experienced and technically proficient National Service and Technical Training Manager with specialization in John Deere agricultural machinery.
This strategic leadership role is responsible for the national coordination, oversight, and enhancement of field service operations and internal service departments across Botswana. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in elevating the technical capabilities and operational performance of the service teams, with a strong emphasis on expert-level diagnostic, repair, and maintenance knowledge of John Deere products.
Key responsibilities will include the design, execution, and governance of technical training frameworks, workforce development initiatives, and continuous service improvement strategies. The position demands a proactive, hands-on leader capable of translating complex technical requirements into effective training outcomes and operational excellence.
Reporting directly to the Country Manager, the incumbent will serve as a core member of the Senior Management Team, contributing to organizational strategy with specific accountability for national technical service delivery and skills advancement.

Core Responsibilities:

. Lead the continuous improvement of service delivery systems and technician training infrastructure aligned with AFGRI’s mission and service excellence goals.
. Oversee workshop operations and provide strategic guidance on all technical and mechanical service activities.
. Establish and enforce robust service procedures and operational standards to ensure timely, high-quality customer support with strong financial outcomes.
. Drive efficiencies across service support and training functions through structured communication, streamlined processes, and performance alignment.
. Conduct technical needs assessments, evaluate competency frameworks, and implement tailored training interventions.
. Develop comprehensive training materials aimed at measurable skill enhancement and performance optimization.
. Administer the training budget effectively to ensure cost-efficiency and return on investment.
. Continuously assess technician performance to identify skill gaps and improvement areas.
. Champion AFGRI’s brand values by embedding them into all training and development programs.
. Maintain clear communication channels across technical, instructional, and executive teams.
. Monitor industry advancements to integrate best practices and innovation into training methodologies.

EDUCATION:

. John Deere Certified Technician – Engine Maintenance, Product Servicing and Product Management
. John Deere Certified Technical Trainers Servicing and Product Management.
. BA Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent

EXPERIENCE

. Minimum of 10yrs. Experience as a John Deere Technician
. Minimum of 6yrs. Experience training junior technicians in John Deere Product Maintenance and Servicing
. Minimum of 6yrs. Managerial Experience
