Key Responsibilities

• Conduct legal and thematic research to inform content development.
• Write and edit high-quality articles, explainers, blog posts, and educational guides.
• Translate complex legal concepts into accessible, plain-language formats.
• Develop content for web, social media, downloadable templates, and community-facing materials.
• Ensure all content aligns with Legal Dialog’s editorial voice, legal accuracy, and style guidelines.
• Optimize written content for clarity, structure, SEO, and user engagement.
• Format and publish content using WordPress, including image selection, metadata tagging, and layout optimization.
• Assist with proofreading, fact-checking, and quality control across editorial outputs.
• Track local legal developments and identify content opportunities relevant to youth audiences.
• Contribute to shaping the content calendar and evolving editorial processes.

Qualifications & Experience

• Graduate Diploma or Degree in Law, Journalism, Communications, or a related field.
• Demonstrated excellence in writing and editing for diverse, non-expert audiences.
• Proven ability to simplify complex topics without sacrificing accuracy or nuance.
• Familiarity with SEO best practices, digital publishing, and content optimization techniques.
• Experience with WordPress, Google Docs, and Microsoft Word; design literacy is a plus.
• Working knowledge of tools such as Grammarly, SurferSEO, or equivalent content tools.
• Exceptional attention to detail, grammar, and editorial standards.
• Comfortable receiving editorial feedback and meeting deadlines in a fast-paced setting.
• Self-starter with strong time management and project ownership abilities.
• A team-oriented mindset with curiosity, creativity, and commitment to the mission.
