RECEIVING TEAM LEADER – Sefalana Cash & Carry

Sefalana Cash & Carry, a leading distributor of Fast Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) in Botswana, has opportunities for experienced individuals to take up the role of a Receiving Team Leader. The positions are tenable in Lobatse, Ramotswa, and Gaborone.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

a) A Botswana General Certificate in Secondary Education (BGCSE) or an equivalent academic qualification.
b) Thorough and practical knowledge of products and services sold in the FMCG sector: product descriptions, pack-sizes, variants, flavours, and expiry dates.
c) At least two (2) years’ work experience specifically performing duties related to receiving goods and warehousing.
d) Attentive to details and able to verify the quality, quantity, and cost prices of received goods – and take the right action on addressing discrepancies.
e) Be able to supervise subordinates to ensure that the team is motivated and meets performance expectations.
f) Fully aware of the common causes of stock loss in wholesale/retail outlets and control measures that reduce the losses.
g) Be trustworthy and reliable, analytical, self-driven, and prepared to meet performance expectations.

JOB SUMMARY

a) Supervise a team of subordinates (receiving staff) to ensure that the team delivers results.
b) Ensure that receiving staff adheres to set procedures so that goods are received accurately.
c) Ensure that receiving staff adheres to the set security precautions to minimize stock losses.
d) Ensure that received goods are captured into the Arch Retail System timely and accurately.
e) Ensure that the damaged goods are handled as per the laid down policies and procedures.
f) Investigate and resolve instances of receiving errors or breaches of receiving procedures.
g) Ensure that the department upholds the company’s hygiene and house-keeping standards.
h) Receive ordered goods as per receiving procedures e.g. verify quantity, quality, and price.
i) Participate in general store management duties e.g. end control spot checks, hazard counts.
