SAFETY AND HEALTH OFFICER – MMG-KHOEMACAU COPPER MINING

VACANCY 

BASIC FUNCTION OF THE POSITION:

The Safety and Health Officer is responsible for implementing and monitoring safety and health programs to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Ensuring corrective actions are implemented.

• Conducting Critical Control Monitoring and audits.

• Participating in the identification of hazards and other identified critical controls.

• Ensuring preparedness and emergency readiness is met.

• Participating in safety & health committee meetings, training, and investigations.

• Assisting with the implementation and monitoring of safety and health management systems and standards.

• Managing site-wide corporate safety and health records.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED FOR EFFECTIVE PERFORMANCE:

• Degree in Occupational Health and Safety or equivalent.

• At least 5 years’ experience in a similar role in underground mining.

Certifications and Courses:

• Safety Training Course e.g. SAMTRAC

• Certificate in Principles in Safety Management, Risk Assessment, and Accident/Incident Investigation

• ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001/ OHSAS 18001/ ISO 45001 Systems
