Benson Craig (Pty) Ltd is a cigarette manufacturer in Botswana and was initially established through a government supported industrial diversification project but is now wholly privately funded. The company invites suitably qualified candidates to apply for the position below.

CIGARETTE PACKING MACHINE TECHNICIAN

Reporting to the Production Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following;

* Planning for both medium and short term maintenance of cigarette packing machine
* Set up equipment and machinery to specification of factory equipment and material
* Monitoring the performance of factory machinery, equipment and plant as well as providing expert advice on all factory equipment requirements
* Operate the machine, conduct machine overhaul and implementing preventive methods
* Training and development of subordinates within the section
* Liaison with management on manufacturing technological changes

Qualifications and experience

* Tobacco Cigarette Machinery Mechanics certificate, Diploma or apprenticeship
* Technician Certificate in Cigarette packing machines
* Sound knowledge of Tobacco Cigarette Manufacturing equipment
* A minimum of 15 years experience in the cigarette and allied industries

Competences

* Competent in the use of computer equipment in the cigarette industry
* Must be competent in the tobacco and materials management processes
