POSITION: TECHNICAL PLANT FOREMAN

Dikgang Publishing Company (Pty) Ltd trading as Mmegi invites applications from suitably qualified candidates for the position above:

Main Purpose of the Job

• To maintain the plant, equipment and machinery, including diagnosis of faults and rigorous preventive maintenance scheduling; to reduce the incidence of costly breakdowns and improve the useful life of equipment and machinery.

Main Duties

• Supervise the maintenance team to ensure a prolonged and continuous usefulness of equipment.
• Supervise the printing and collating divisions and ensure that operations are effective and that products meet or exceed customer expectations.
• Ensure maintenance of low waste, production efficiency and quality.
• Ensure production and operations are conducted in a safe and clean working environment that complies with local laws and regulations.
• Identify activities and opportunities that improve the manufacturing processes and control costs throughout the department.
• Assist in formulation and direction of production policies and procedures and ensure maintenance of reasonable stock levels of raw materials.
• Responsible for staff development and training.

Requirements

• A Journeyperson/Class 1 Technician qualification in Litho-Machine Printing.
• 10 years post training experience with at least 5 years supervisory experience and demonstrated record of effectiveness.
• Self-motivated, accountable and courteous.
• Have good written and oral communication skills.
• Demonstrate leadership and coaching ability.
• Ability to work under pressure.
