VACANCY: CHIEF TECHNICAL OFFICER (ELECTRICAL)

VACANCY CIRCULAR NO. 10 of 2025

Applications are invited from suitably qualified employees in the Ministry of Local Government & Traditional Affairs for the above mentioned post tenable in Mabutsane District Council.

Salary: D4 (P255, 948.00- P282, 120.00) per annum

Leave: 30 working days per annum

Qualifications: Diploma in Electrical and Electronic Engineering/ Higher National Diploma (HND) or Higher Technician Diploma Electrical (HTD) and or related field.

Experience: At least eight (8) years relevant work experience of which two (2) years must have been served as Principal Technical Officer – I (Electrical) at C1 salary scale.

Requirements; Prospective candidates must be registered with ERB as Registered Engineering Technician and have

a valid practicing certificate (Attach certified copies of Registration and Valid Practicing Certificates.

Benefits: Optional Medical Aid Scheme (Government pay 50% and employee 50%. Contributory Pension fund scheme (Government contributes 15% and the employee pay 5%).

Duties

• Monitoring progress workmanship and adherence to specification by contractors and Council.
• Verification of payment claims by contractors and keeping accurate record if expenditure.
• Preparation of progress reports.
• Liaison with community and participation consultative discussion related to the planning and implementation of projects.
• Provision of guidance to subordinates
• Undertakes any other related duties as directed by management.
