EXTRA HEAVY DUTY DRIVER

Job Summary:

We are looking for a skilled and dependable Extra Heavy Duty Driver to join our logistics and transport team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the safe and timely transportation of goods, both locally and across borders to South Africa, Mozambique, Malawi, Namibia, Zimbabwe, and other destinations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate Scania/Volvo Horse with 18-meter trailers and other company vehicles for local and cross-border deliveries.
• Safely load, secure, and offload goods in line with company procedures.
• Travel long distances across Botswana and other SADC countries while adhering to road safety and border requirements.
• Conduct routine vehicle checks, report mechanical issues, and ensure vehicles are well maintained.
• Should be able to attend to minor repairs to truck and trailers when away from the base.
• Complete all delivery, customs, and border crossing documentation accurately and on time.
• Maintain a log of driving hours, mileage, fuel usage, and delivery records.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, transport regulations, and international road laws.
• Communicate effectively with the logistics/dispatch office regarding delivery schedules and route updates.
• Assist with basic cargo handling when necessary.
• Uphold the highest standards of professionalism, safety, and customer service during deliveries.

Requirements & Skills

• Valid Extra Heavy Duty Driver’s License (EC & PrDP for Goods).
• Minimum of 10-12 years’ proven experience driving heavy duty vehicles.
• Clean driving record with no major traffic violations.
• Knowledge of SADC road networks and cross-border transport procedures.
• Valid passport and ability to travel outside Botswana especially in SA & Mozambique.
• Good understanding of customs clearance processes and documentation.
• Physically fit and able to undertake long-distance driving.
• Strong communication skills and reliability.
