COMPONENT MANAGER A- CAPACITY BUILDING , INSTITUTIONAL STRENGTHENING AND TRAINING – E1 SALARY SCALE
MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB
To supervise and coordinate the transport planning and ICT aspect of the BITP.
DUTIES
1. Initiates and coordinate project planning.
2. Supervises designs and prepares specifications for implementation of project activities.
3. Supervises the implementation of transport planning and ICT activities to ensure that project activities are completed with the specified, quality, time, budget and scope.
4. Reviews/ checks the quality of project deliverables and recommends acceptance.
5. Supervises consultations with the community and other stakeholders for BITP prior to design and construction.
6. Leads consultations with Community and other stakeholders prior to design and construction.
7. Provides project related information to stakeholders.
8. Checks and certifies project fee note/interim payment certificates (IPCs).
9. Checks contracts agreement before signing
10. Supervise the procurement process of the Greater Gaborone urban transport improvement project activities.
11. Prepares procurement documents for technical assistance required under the BITP.
12. Checks and consolidate budget estimates for the Greater Gaborone urban transport improvement project activities.
13. Monitors project expenditure for the Greater Gaborone urban transport improvement project activities to ensure that it is within budget.
14. Supervises and manages subordinates
QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor Degree in Civil Engineering or Economics or equivalent and related qualifications.
EXPERIENCE: Minimum 12 years’ experience in Transport Planning, of which six years should be in either multi- modal transport master planning, coordination of transport infrastructure projects, transport modelling, transport project economic appraisal.

SALARY SCALE: E1 (BWP 397,092.00 per annum)
LEAVE: 30 Working days per annum
OTHER BENEFITS
I. Optional contributory medical aid scheme with the Botswana Public Officers Medical Aid Scheme (BPOMAS). The employer pays 50% and employee pays 50%. The Employer will also contribute 50% of medical aid cover for individuals who are already members of a different medical aid scheme other than BPOMAS.
II. A contract of 24 to 36 months, with gratuity at the rate of 30% payable upon expiry of contract.
