VACANCY CIRCULAR NO. 5 OF 2018

PROJECT OFFICER: PUBLIC TRANSPORT

MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB
Supervise and coordinate the Greater Gaborone Public Transport project activities.

 

DUTIES

1. Checks procurement documents for Public Transport project activity.
2 Supervises the implementation of the Greater Gaborone Public Transport project activities.
3 Review/check the quality of project deliverables recommends way forward to the Component Manager.
4 Initiates preparation of requests for project finance warrants.
5 Prepare project updates and submit to the Component Manager.
6 Conduct Consultation with the community and stakeholder
7 Provides project related information to stakeholders
8 Reviews variations orders and contractual claims and recommends to the Component Manager for approval/disapproval.
9 Prepare project fee notes/interim payments certificates (IPCs).
10 Monitor the Public Transport Project expenditure to ensure that it is within budget.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s Degree in Civil/ Highway Engineering or equivalent and related qualification. Master’s Degree in Transport Planning/Urban Transport Economics or Urban Transport Planning or Public Transport Management will be an added advantage

EXPERIENCE: minimum ten (10) years’ experience in Transport Planning, with at least five (5) years’ experience in development and management of mass transit systems.

SALARY SCALE: D1 (BWP 285,444.00 per annum)

LEAVE: 30 Working days per annum

OTHER BENEFITS

I. Optional contributory medical aid scheme with the Botswana Public Officers Medical Aid Scheme (BPOMAS). The employer pays 50% and employee pays 50%. The employer will also contribute 50% of medical aid cover for individuals who are already members of a different medical aid scheme other than BPOMAS.
II. A contract of 24 to 36 months, with gratuity at the rate of 30% payable upon expiry of contract.
