LODGE MANAGEMENT COUPLE/LODGE MANAGER
Main Purpose of the Job
- The lodge manager is responsible for maintaining the smooth operations of remote lodges; to provide leadership to staff, maintain lodge facilities and provide a level of hospitality which exceeds expectations.
- Duties include management, supervision and administration of both lodges and s/he must have sound knowledge of all lodge functions such as front of house, housekeeping, procurement, stock control, guiding and maintenance.
- He/she will work closely with the General Manager.
Responsibilities
- It will be the responsibility of the incumbent to provide a welcoming lodge environment for our guests with high standards of service, meals and housekeeping. S/he will also maintain a safe, harmonious, enjoyable work environment for staff.
- The manager will coordinate, manage, train, motivate and monitor staff of various skills and experiences at both lodges. S/he will ensure that all aspects of the lodge operations, service delivery, and maintenance are run efficiently and effectively. Furthermore s/he has authority to order Food and
- Beverage supplies to restock the Lodge(s) while ensuring control of costs. Last but not least, the manager will be required to make sure that the guests’ experiences are exceeding their expectations resulting in repeat visits and increased occupancy
Qualifications and experience
- The successful applicant(s) must possess relevant qualifications, ten (10) years’ post qualification experiences in the hospitality industry with at least 5 years at senior management level.
- S/he must enjoy working with customers, be helpful and provide an excellent level of service with a clear goal of improving guests’ experience; must have good people and leadership skills; be a great team player and a good decision maker able to think out of the box. Applicants must be computer literate.
- Applicant with experience of working in a remote area will be preferred. Knowledge and experience of the maintenance and/or the guiding functions will be an added advantage.
