The University of Stellenbosch Business School Executive Development Botswana (Pty) Ltd, known as USB-ED Botswana, is a private company offering leadership and management development (short course) programmes across Africa for both corporates and individuals. USB-ED Botswana has a full time position for an Office Manager: Botswana. The successful candidate will be based in Gaborone (Botswana). The appointee will be part of the dynamic ED4Africa team, delivering a high quality service to our local clients, the company and society.
Job purpose:
Working within the ED4Africa department, reporting to the General Manager, the purpose of the Office Manager: Botswana is to provide an office operations management service to the USB-ED Botswana Office as well as supporting generating business from existing and new clients in the Botswana region. In doing so, they will support USB-ED’s capability to serve the development of leading managers in Africa by means of leadership development solutions.

Key performance areas and indicators will involve:
• Botswana Office management
o Manage all Botswana Office facilities, infrastructure, office supplies and equipment.
o Manage Telecoms and IT related matters
o Switchboard, reception, and admin service
o Botswana Office financial administration
o Manage the document storage and retrieval capability / safeguarding of records
• Programme Management
o System administration
o Financial and supply chain administration
o Logistics administration
o Documentation and faculty / participant material and stationary administration
o End of program administration
o Programme faculty and participant schedule / activity / workflow implementation administration
o Facilitate programme launches and participant orientation
o Administer programme resourcing: Contracting with Faculty and LPF ‘s
o Conduct Post Action Reviews and maintains depository of feedback on all programs
• Sales and Prospecting
o Respond to sales / marketing queries
o Qualify potential clients
o Establish client meetings / contact with key decision makers / client engagement (1st client meeting)
o Input into programme budgets
o Establish scoping and discovery sessions with clients (multiple stakeholder engagement)
o Local Tender Participation and Support
Qualifications:
A business related graduate qualification; postgraduate qualification would be advantageous
Preference to Alumni of Stellenbosch University, USB, or USB-ED
Skills and experience:
At least five years’ experience as a sales person in a complex sales environment (e.g. consulting, business development) coupled with solid office administration experience.
Competencies:
• Stakeholder engagement skills
• Business knowledge (how a business operates)
• Ability to think conceptually and to translate business needs into learning objectives and solutions
• Versatility – Good understanding of USB-ED Botswana’s range of products / solutions and the ability to use that understanding to brainstorm and propose appropriate solutions immediately /on the spot
• Good understanding of the Academic environment and value of corporate education
• Systemic thinking ability and ability to manage complexity
• The successful person must have access to own transport and be willing to travel (Within Botswana and Rest of Africa) and to work after hours, when required.
