- To prepare financial and business plans for the group
- To manage and play an advisory role to the group regarding tax issues
- To carry out financial audits and implement control systems
- To maintain a working relationship with financial institutions
- To coordinate the functions of the Accounts department to ensure that intercompany & VAT reconciliations are done and BURS returns are submitted
- To lead a team of assistants and tram them in the field of accountancy as well as oversee the training of all the branch managers of the company on management accounts and store profitability in order to achieve the required gross profit results
- To Implement cost control measures and assist the company in achieving the desired results
- To ensure that the group meets the requirement of BOA training standards and ensure that claims are processed
- To supply all accounting information to the auditors for the audit
- To oversee company tax planning
- To ensure that the directors are informed of all their responsibilities under the companies tax laws and to ensure that these obligations are met
- To ensure that all companies under the Nandos Group of companies including all property companies are compliant with regards to the latest tax law and company laws
- To work closely with the procurement department in securing the best prices from suppliers and to ensure they are kept informed by mean of accurate monthly financials
- To ensure that deadlines are met with regards to franchise compliance requirement and BURS in order to avoid penalties
- To ensure that all companies in the group are compliant with the companies act income tax act and international accounting standards
- To deal with all insurance matters and file claims where necessary
- Any other duties that may be given from time to time
The Individual
- Must be resilient and have the ability to work with people.
- Must have knowledge of restaurant operations including people, product and customer operations
- Must have superb communication and listening skills as well as excellent coaching, mentoring and motivational skills.
- A high degree of self-motivation, personal accountability, empathy, drive. energy and passion, attention to detail critical analysis and commitment
- Must have knowledge of Nando s Technical Operational Standards and back office systems
Qualifications:
A qualified Chartered Accountant with at least 20 years’ experience Experience in a Franchise environment would be advantageous
