Responsible for identifying value-creating opportunities across our four (4) Operations, developing and executing a Supply Chain strategy consistent with our culture, business objectives, continuous improvement and cost management/efficiency improvement efforts.
Partnering both with the business and cross-functional teams, to lead all national Supply Chain activities in pursuit of advancements in efficiency and cost reduction through planning & resource utilization, inventory management, sourcing/procurement & supplier management, and logistics. Identify and lead Supply Chain projects that drive operational efficiency as well as establishment of best practices which result in year over year improvement in the cost, quality, and service of the goods the business receives and delivers.
Minimum Requirements
- Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business or equivalent Commercial degree.
- Ten (10) years post graduate experience in Supply Chain, at least five (5) of which should be have been in Senior Management position/s.
Key activities Financial Effectiveness
- Interpret operational requirements to ensure the availability of financial resources to attain operational objectives.
- Thorough understanding of financial management and procurement’s impact on business results.
- Demonstrate clear Supply Chain value add (in monetary terms) to all customers.
Supply Chain Leadership and Interface
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to maintain a wide range of multi-site relationships at all levels of the organization utilizing influence, communication, facilitation, and presentation to effectively define and manage positive change.
- Develops and implements strategies for empowerment and citizen economic empowerment imperatives of the supplier base whilst driving Company demand aggregation.
- Manages Supply Chain risks through effective real time risk log.
- Directs, monitors and supports Supply Chain related projects, taking cognisance of generally accepted project methodologies, specifications, time parameters, health, safety and legal requirements.
- Regular interface with both Executive Leadership and Operational Management to drive engagement and adoption of processes and programs to support commitment to continuous improvement and cost reduction.
Supply Chain Strategy
- Develops a Supply Chain strategy and resource model to ensure that the Supply Chain delivers on the rapid development and changing demands of its customers.
- Develops strategic initiatives for organizational supply chain productivity/cost reduction including material spend, inventory levels, working capital, resource utilization/capacity planning, supplier strategy, citizen economic empowerment, and supply risk contingency planning.
- Ensures effective information management and business processes to support the delivery of the strategic objectives of Supply Chain.
Supply Chain Policy Development
- Develops and implements Supply Chain policies to ensure adherence to best corporate governance principles.
- Maintains an adequate control environment to ensure the achievement of business goals and objectives.
Company Level Planning
- Develops planning and forecasting models and methodologies for the Company to ensure consolidated demand planning and management of strategic material inventory.
Supply Chain Performance
- Tracks the Supply Chain Management performance through appropriate KPIs.
Business Integration
- Develops and manages, on an on-going basis, organisation-to-organisation SLAs with clear measurable objectives.
- Drives integration of strategy and standardised business processes between Supply Chain Management and other business entities.
People Management
- Coaches, leads and develops a team across operations to transform Supply Chain into an integrated model better able to support standardised processes and systems into best practice. This includes succession planning, performance management and any other applicable interventions to be in place for all appropriate levels.
- Sets and reviews team objectives regularly to remain in line with that of the department and Company. Directs discipline subordinates to achieve individual, team and Company objectives (KPIs).
