Job Description:
Our client is in need of an experienced Open Cast Mining Site Manager with a Botswana Blasting Ticket to lead their team in Botswana.

Responsibilities:

• Management of open cast mining activities on site.
• Lead the team on site to deliver positive project results.
• Budgeting and cost control.
• Ensure HSE standards are maintained.
• Actively driving process improvement initiatives.
• Ensure adequate resources in terms of manpower and supply chain.
• Mentoring and training subordinates.

Requirements: Qualification and Skill

• Bachelor’s Degree in engineering or similar qualification.
• Botswana Blasting Certificate.
• Matric / senior school completion certificate.
• Frontline management qualification.
• MBA or similar qualification highly advantageous.
• 10 years previous experience in open cast mining operations with at least 5 years at site management level.
• Contractor management experience.
• Driver’s licence.
• Fluent English communication skills.
• Botswana nationals are encouraged to apply.

Contractual information:

• Contract position.
• Willingness to work in remote locations.
