Applications are invited from suitably qualified Ministry of Local Government & Rural Development employees for the below-mentioned post tenable in Lobatse Town Council.
Vacancy: Principal Quantity Surveyor II
Salary: D3 (239 292 – P 263 808) per annum
Leave: 30 working days per annum
Qualifications: Degree in Buildings Economics/ Quantity Surveying Or related field
Applicant must be registered with relevant Botswana Registration Body as a Professional.
Experience: Applicants must have served at least eight (8) years’ experience of which two (2) years must have been served as Senior Quantity Surveyor – D4
Benefits: a. Contributory Pension Fund Scheme, the government contributes 15% and employee contributes a minimum 5%.
b. Optional contributory Medical Aid Scheme (Government contributes 50% and employee contributes 50%).
MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
To plan, manage and to undertake overall responsibility for the performance and development of all quantity surveying works.
DUTIES:
• Ensure provision of quantity surveying services for the local authority in support to building facilities development and maintenance in conformity with established legislation, regulations, policies and directives.
• Prepares cost estimates of buildings projects and maintenance projects.
• Supervises the presentation of Bills of Quantities and specification for both maintenance and building projects to guide in the development of the budget of the works.
• Supervises maintenance and construction works to ensure adherence to budget.
• Supervises and guides subordinates in accordance with set standards.
• Undertakes any other related duties as directed by management.

IMPORTANT:

• Hand delivered applications should be dropped in a secure application box at Office number 2 (Records Management Unit) Old Block.
• The applicant must record the application (s) in the applications register placed in the same officer (RMU) for such purposes.
• The Records Officer will collect mail from the post office on the application closing date (24th June 2020) (a 1630 hrs and any application reaching the post after such time will not be accepted regardless of the date of posting.
• The application will be opened (removed from secure box) on the 25th June 2020 @ 0900 hrs.
