JOB SUMMARY
To manage and lead all activities related to Business Development in line with the commercial strategy, through the process of Development/product/ and service design. To conduct Partnership appraisals and make recommendations on revenue generation projects to be implemented by Botswana Post. As a senior manager, the General Manager shall operate at strategic level and be able to make reports and presentations to the board.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
* Contributing to the formulation of strategic plans, business plans, budgets and operating plans in order to achieve the overall Commercial Strategy
* Preparation and management of the cost and revenue budgets for Business Development & Products unit
* Identify new potential products, agency services and improved service delivery opportunities to guide in strategy formulation and implementation
* Evaluation of the Business or service delivery opportunities to establish profitability and benefits to the customer at Value Centres
* Preparation of proposals for the new business with clear cost, revenue, profitability or improved customer service delivery
* Contract negotiation with suppliers/developers or principals or customers of approved proposals
* To keep up do date with business developments in customer service, postal service and other business strategies, techniques and methodologies, changes in regulatory and/or legislative issues
* Participate and contribute at regular Commercial meetings to review performance, share strategic developments and obtain feedback information from staff
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
QUALIFICATIONS:
* Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management, Marketing. IT, Economics. Post graduate qualification will be an added advantage
EXPERIENCE:
* Minimum of (7) years commercial experience. A strong background in Financial Services , Strategy,banking related products, practices and services and the pre-requisite banking operational and regulatory
frameworks/practices. Ability to optimize opportunities for information technology is also a pre-requisite.
COMPETENCIES REQUIRED:
*Solid product and business development experience
*Good Relationship Management experience
*Information Technology (technical) and operations experience; IT savvy and be able to understand the latest emerging technologies.
*Have the ability to manage projects from inception to implementation and be able to develop business case
