INDUSTRIAL RELATIONS PRACTITIONER
Reporting directly to the Human Resources Manager, the incumbent must possess the following qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources Management, Industrial Relations or equivalent qualification. Training and
experience in industrial relations, including a sound knowledge and experience in practice of labour law is essential.

Key Performance Areas
- To provide high quality industrial and employee relations services and support to all Unitrans staff and management in
order to foster a harmonious Industrial Relations Climate.
- Analyses IR trends and recommends proactive solutions to Departmental Heads and Managers.
- Assists in formulation and updating policies and procedures to ensure best practice.
- Interprets company policies and procedures to line management and employees to ensure sound industrial relations and
equitable application of company policies and procedures.
- Undertakes regular visits to departments to identify areas of potential disputes and grievances.
- Provides technical and professional advice to line managers and employees during disciplinary hearings to ensure
compliance with labour law, company policies and procedures and fair resolution of complaints.
- Records proceedings during internal disciplinary hearings and avails records to all concerned parties within the stipulated
time.
- Prepares case files for labour disputes and industrial court cases and represents the company to lead evidence.
- Counsels employees to prevent recurrence of transgressions for cordial working relations, documents and files counselling
records to facilitate follow ups.

implementation of ISO certification for 9001, 14001, and 18001;
- A solid understanding/background of labor relations
- Good negotiating and mediation skills
- Ability to multi task and keep confidential information
