The Director for Student Affairs is a senior leadership position that is responsible for overseeing the development and implementation of an inclusive and progressive student affairs strategy. The Directorate of Student Affairs will support non-academic needs of students, develop and deliver on events, activities and opportunities catered to the College’s student population. The Director of Student Affairs will also focus on campus life activities that promote student engagement and welfare, providing a variety of programmes and opportunities to meet the needs and interest of the student population. The Director will oversee and monitor all non-academic support to students, including and especially to students with special needs and circumstances. Counselling, crisis prevention and intervention, dispute resolution, and developing support systems aimed at addressing health and social challenges including overseeing student conduct and disciplinary matters, forms an integral part of the role of the Director of Student Affairs. Finally, the Director of Student Affairs will prioritize developing relationships and engaging with relevant stakeholders to provide programmes and projects to promote a diverse, inclusive, and exciting campus life designed to enhance the integration of students during their studies while positioning the College’s towards providing non-academic learning and growth opportunities for all New Era College students.

Core Responsibilities
- Develops and coordinates the Student Affairs departmental strategy, policies, and activities.
- Prepares, implements, and monitors departmental operational plans and budget for the Department.
- Oversee annual review and production of the student handbook and relevant student support documents.
- Leads and curates student orientation, SRC leadership training and induction, and other student-based activities and programmes designed to facilitate and integrate students into campus life.
- Provides leadership and support to the SRC and acts as a liaison between the SRC and management of the institution.
- Oversees student judicial affairs, disciplinary proceedings and manages and prioritizes student complaints in accordance with the institution’s student handbook, policies, and procedures.
- Provide leadership and supervision to all Student Affairs teams and monitor their respective roles and plans, with a focus on performance and result-driven outcomes.
- Develops, delivers, and improves student activities and events including but not limited to sports and recreation, clubs and committees, student leadership and governance, health and wellness, and advocacy and welfare.
- Promotes the Student living and learning experience.
- Promotes student leisure, healthy living and sporting life.
- Develops and maintains relationships with stakeholders to offer and deliver on student welfare programmes and activities to create opportunities for learning and growth outside the classroom.
- Develops and promotes a healthy, inclusive, and equitable student culture focused on learning and growth in areas of social respect, diversity and acceptance, developing life, soft and interpersonal skills, and promoting discourse around leadership, and addressing social challenges and opportunities.
- Promotes and provides leadership to student-led community outreach programmes and projects.
- Serves as a full-time member of College’s Senior Management Team, the Senate, the Chair of the Student Orientation Committee, and other high-level committees.
- Conducts departmental meetings and prepares and analyses reports.
- Undertake any tasks as assigned by the Vice President for Academic Affairs.

Qualifications:
