Development and Alumni Relations Coordinator
Maru-a-Pula seeks a highly-motivated, detail-oriented individual to fill the Development and Alumni Relations Coordinator position. The Development and Alumni Relations Coordinator will report directly to the Direcior of Development (DoD) and support the development team. The Coordinator will be responsible for database integrity, gift recording and acknowledgement and providing administrative support to the Development Office.
The person in this role must safeguard the confidentiality of departmental and office administration by exercising discretion in communicating information and the handling of all departmental requests.
Education and Experience
Minimum diploma in relevant field – data management / administration; or 1-3 years data management and administrative experience. Database management experience is a plus, but not required.
Key Responsibilities
Maintaining the integrity of the school’s development database.
Recording gifts and ensuring that gift acknowledgement and proper stewarding of donors is timely and ongoing.
Preparing reports and communications materials.
Providing all other support for the development function and fundraising as may be required including event
planning and fostering the alumni network.
Skills and Requirements
- Meticulous attention to detail with strong organisational and time management skills.
- Ability to multi-task and function with accuracy and adhere to deadlines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient with data entry.
- Sensitive to issues of confidentiality.
- Strong interpersonal skills using tact, patience and courtesy.
- Must be self-motivated and able to perform under minimal supervision.
