Barista Job Description
Barista showing exceptional latte art skills.
Baristas makes and serves beverages, such as coffee, tea, mocktails, smoothies, and foods, such as sandwiches, muffins, or cookies. They explain menu items to customers, clean, and attempt to ensure that customers are comfortable and satisfied.
To succeed as a barista, you should be committed to providing customers with excellent service. You should be positive, friendly, knowledgeable, and polite.
Barista Responsibilities:
°Welcoming customers, informing them about specials or new items, answering questions, and accepting orders and payments.
° Preparing foods, such as sandwiches or baked goods, and grinding and blending coffee beans, brewing coffee and tea, and serving items to customers.
° Making smoothies, freshly squeezed juices, mocktails, ice cream desserts and assisting the chef and waitress with kitchen upkeep.
° Packaging food and beverages for sale.
°Cleaning and restocking work and dining areas, emptying trash and sanitizing equipment and utensils.
° Taking inventory and replenishing items in display cases, at tables, or behind the counter.
° Adhering to all food safety regulations and quality controls.
Barista Requirements:
° at least one year barista experience
° Food and beverage preparation certificate.
° Barista and mixology training certificate is an advantage.
° Experience in food and beverage preparation or customer service preferred.
° First Aid and fire training would be an advantage.
° Training and willingness to continue learning about food and beverage preparation.
° Exceptional listening and communication skills.
° A polite, engaging personality.
° Commitment to customer satisfaction and service excellence.
