SCOPE AND PURPOSE:
Our Safari Safety and Resilience Officer will be responsible for ensuring that our Safari Operation meets as a minimum local health and safety, food safety legal and regulatory requirements and mitigates risks. You will be expected to monitor compliance, assess potential risks, develop policies and procedures, conduct internal audits, and provide training to employees. This includes investigating incidents and collaborating with local and global stakeholders to address compliance issues. Your role is vital in safeguarding reputation and ensuring adherence to local laws and regulations in a constantly evolving hospitality environment.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Regulatory Compliance: You will monitor and ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards. This includes staying updated on legal requirements related to areas such as food hygiene, health & safety, licensing and wider EHO best practices.
- Risk Management: You will identify and assess potential risks and vulnerabilities within our operation. This includes conducting, implementing and reviewing risk assessments with the support of our global safety, security and resilience function and implementing measures to minimize risks. You may also work with insurance providers when necessary.
- Health and safety and Food Safety Policies and Procedures: You will support the local operations in developing, reviewing, and maintaining safety, food safety and business continuity policies and procedures that govern operations. This includes ensuring that policies align with local regulatory requirements and industry best practices. Furthermore, you will be expected to communicate policies to employees and provide training to ensure understanding and compliance.
- Internal Audits: You will be expected to conduct internal safety and food safety audits to evaluate the effectiveness of internal controls, risk management processes, and compliance with policies and procedures. This includes identifying areas for improvement and developing action plans to address any deficiencies or gaps.
- Training: You will provide training programmes to all employees on compliance-related topics, such as food hygiene, health & safety, Crisis management, wellbeing and all other relevant topics. This includes ensuring that employees understand their responsibilities and are equipped to comply with relevant regulations and policies.
- Incident Management: You will ensure all incidents and accidents are recorded in line with company guidelines and coordinate with the wider business to ensure the appropriate next steps are taken. This includes investigating incidents and implementing measures to prevent recurrence.
- Collaboration and Communication: You will be expected to collaborate with various local stakeholders, including property managers, HR, operations, purchasing, property teams, external partners and global safety Security and Resilience Functions, to address compliance issues and ensure a consistent understanding of risk management and compliance requirements.
