To provide support and work in tangent with the Store Manager to ensure that the operations and all administrative functions of a retail store are running in accordance with the Company’s standards and procedures. This document must be read in conjunction with the performance appraisal document and forms part of the employee’s terms and conditions of employment.

Key Performance Areas
1. Managing and controlling all daily store operations to maximise sales turnover;
2. Ensure that daily sales trading is done in accordance with all standard operating procedures;
3. Daily monitoring of stores sales turnover and budgets;
4. Monitoring and maintaining correct stock levels to maximise sales turnover;
5. Monitor and control all stores expenses within allocated budgets;
6. Controlling, selection and supervision of staff;
7. Training and development of staff;
8. Implement, monitor and ensure all standard operating procedures are adhered to in all areas of the store;
9. Ensuring compliance with policy and procedures of Company;
10. Maintaining records of stock levels and financial transactions;
11. Ensure effective and efficient implementation of advertised sales promotions;
12. Promoting and advertising goods and services;
13. Minimize expenses in area of responsibility;
14. Maximise sales in area of responsibility;

 

15. Protect Company assets in area of responsibility;
16. Minimize stock loss (Shrinkages & Damages).
17. Manage, control and administer all functions in the store related to daily banking, receipt and dispatch of goods, staff scheduling, stock counts, stationery and all other general administration;
18. Counting and recording money received and/or paid out and balancing against cash register sales records;
19. Daily cash ups and balancing by receiving incoming cash, checking it against sales slips and other documents, and preparing it for deposit at bank;
20. Ensure accurate and timeous daily banking and reconciliations;
21. Daily reporting all discrepancies, shortages and overs, price overrides refunds and exchanges to Store Manager for authorisation;
22. Administration and record keeping of all daily cash up and banking documentation;
23. Manage and control all functions and procedures related to receipt and dispatch of goods in accordance with standard operating procedures;

 

24. Oversee, monitor and control back door procedures including all documentation;
25. Administration and control of all supplier returns, repairs and damage stock write offs;
26. Daily reporting of all receipt and despatch documentation to the Store Manager for authorisation;
27. Adherences to daily housekeeping in receiving and storage areas;
28. Administration and record keeping of all documentation related to receipt and dispatch of stock;
29. Manage and control all weekly stock counts in accordance with count schedule;
30. Plan and prepare and administer all stock take counts;
31. Manage and control all stock take counts;
32. Planning and preparing work schedules and assigning staff to specific duties;
33. Continuously updating price changes electronically and manually;
34. Maintenance and administrations of all stock related matters;
35. Ordering and monitoring and controlling Stationery use in the store.

 

Entry Requirements
1. Matric Certificate;
2. Must have own or reliable transport to work to be able to work shifts;
3. Management Position for minimum of 2 years within a Retail Environment.
