Branch Manager
Overall job purpose
The Branch Manager is a key leadership role in the retail organisation, responsible for delivering an outstanding Barclay’s experience to every customer and leading the branch to meet its goals. This role is a significant leadership position with a strong focus on sales management, customer service excellence and running a well controlled operation with engaged and enabled staff.
Main accountabilities
- Responsible for maintaining a healthy balance sheet in the branch and ensuring the assets on the books of the branch are performing to expected standards, that low quality assets are kept to a minimum and that the earnings contribution of the branch is within acceptable levels
- Accountable for leading the branch team to achieve performance goals across areas of sales, customer service, control and people
- Agree targets for branch performance with the area/reglonal team
- Deliver branch performance in the key areas customer satisfaction performance, sales growth, income contribution and total balance sheet (assets and liabilities). costs performance and risk and rigour performance
- Actively monitor and manage sales performance on a daily, weekly and monthly basis using appropriate management information and sales figures
- Managing day to day branch operations and performance to achieve the best possible outcomes for customers and the business in line with regulation. Barclays’ policy and best practice
- Monitor and perform checks on key processes including tracking completeness of the corrective action on account opening, branch operations snap checks and other exercises like mystery shopping, awareness calling and branch visits from retail control and Area Operations Managers
- Responsible for cost management m their branch including reviewing a3 service provider quotations before work can proceed. In addition, the Branch Manager Is expected to conduct detailed analysis, on a monthly basis, of all the d’rect and indirect costs generated by the branch
- Actively manage the banking hail during peak periods to provide support for the team and monitor the customer experience including queues, complaints and other drivers of business
- Create customer focused sa’es campaigns and focus days to motivate and engage staff and drive improved sales performance
- Provide clear direction to branch staff on the Barclays retail business objectives, translating and prioritising Into business performance measures at branch level
- lead a motivated branch team through strong leadership behaviours, leading by example and acting as an inspiration and guide for others
- Deliver powerful communications with branch colleagues to ensure they understand the vision and goal of the company and of your branch. This will include ruining team meetings, morning huddles, one to one meetings and written communications
- Create a high performance culture within the branch through ongoing coaching for direct reports and other branch team members as we* as the proper and effective use of PD process
- Determine training needs within the branch and actively ensue that training is scheduled and attended for the entire branch
- Create and maintain a succession plan for the branch
Education and experience
- Degree in Business Management or any other related qualification
- 12 years experience. 7 of which should have been in a managerial post
