InPlay is a new children’s leisure and activity centre and cafe; offering a combination of fun and good quality food and entertainment, in a family friendly environment. We are looking for a cook with exceptional customer skills, who will share our dedication to achieve our goals.

Job description:

• In conjunction with the Centre Manager, to plan the café menu
• Plan and undertake all food production and preparation for the Café – including making cakes, soups, snacks and other items as agreed.

• In conjunction with the Centre Manager, to develop a group of suppliers that meet the café needs and manage the ordering process to ensure the kitchen is never out of stock of key items.
• Promote high levels of cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen at all times and ensure the maintenance of equipment and machinery.
• Carry out all checks and systems for cleaning the kitchen to meet environmental standards
• Attending meetings as required; writing and/or presenting reports to the Centre Manager.
• Act within our stated values and comply with our policies and procedures.

Work experience:

• Knowledge of and goler of Food Hygiene or Food Handling qualification
• A working knowledge of Health and Safety Emergency First Aid and/or Health and Safety qualification
• Previous experience in the catering and hospitality sector, including menu setting and food preparation
• Stock control
• Good communication skills – verbal and written Excellent interpersonal skills
• Good organisation skills

• Outstanding customer service skills
• Experience in the supervision of children at all levels.
• Experience in organization and resource management including the management of support staff.
• Professional Skills: Excellent skills in planning, analysing and coordinating activities
• Very good skills in establishing priorities
• A team player, used to work in an international and fast growing, dynamic environment
• Self-motivated, independent, winning and hands-on personality and strong negotiator
• Fast, critical thinker and conflict solver, capable of taking responsibilities when needed.
• Ability to manage a challenging workload under pressure.

• IT Skills: Very good MS Office skills

• Education: A minimum of a certificate in any cullinary discipline
• Languages: Fluency in English
