PURPOSE OF ROLE:
The incumbent will provide support to the CFO in various aspects including: Finance Leadership, the instilling of best practice and the enhancing of business profitability through the provision of information and of insight in key strategic meetings. The role is hands on.
MAIN ACTIVITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The responsibilities will be varied and include the following critical performance areas:
- Establish, align and manage target and budget goals for the business unit, whilst ensuring effective control of costs for a range of areas to increase cost efficiency
- Control expenditure against set budgets
- Determine targets for income growth
- Track and manage income growth from non-interest bearing transactions
- Monitor cost activities and collection of revenue through the GL and measure cost to income against set targets and put measures in place to address any discrepancies
- Monitor and coach behaviours that ensure a service culture which builds rewarding relationships, proposes innovations and allows others to provide exceptional client service
- Manage an integrated service excellence culture which provides opportunity for feedback
- Research, benchmark and develop client service delivery and efficiency models that lead to optimal service delivery and profitability
- Develop and ensure implementation of practices, which build service delivery excellence and encourage others to provide exceptional customer service
- Ensure customer related enquiries and complaints processes are adhered to and identify opportunities to improve services
- Implement and provide input into the development of Governance and Compliance procedures and processes within area of specialisation and identify risks
- Facilitate the implementation of bank policies and procedures to achieve set targets in routine audits
- Ensure optimal usage and protection of branch assets
- Communicate all banking operational procedures and do follow checks to ensure adherence
- Translate strategies into actionable goals and execute relevant projects /initiatives aligned to strategic objectives with specific performance measures and control systems to track progress
- Ensure that thorough fraud investigation procedures and processes are adhered to and that all categories of allegations and cases are attended to
- Improve business decisions by providing accurate and reliable Business Intelligence (information) together with analysing trends and data

REQUIREMENTS:
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance
- ACA/ACCA/CIMA being an added advantage
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience in Banking with 5 years in a senior management position
