To plan, organize, coordinate and manage the Corporation’s IT infrastructure and operations to ensure availability, reliability and accessibility. This includes developing, maintaining, supporting, and optimizing key functional areas, particularly network infrastructure, server infrastructure, data communications and telecommunications systems

Organization – The job holder works for a large organization with considerable IT Infrastructure Processes.
Role – With regard to IT Infrastructure development and operations the job holder plays a crucial role.
Impact – The job holder manages a section that has a direct impact on business results.

Principal Accountabilities/Responsibilities
Data Management
Manages the development and/or operation of significant aspects of the data management system with guidance from management.

Leadership and Direction
Delivers outcomes by managing others and working within established systems.

Supports others by carrying out simple safety, health and environment tasks using established procedures.

Takes responsibility for implementing a team’s performance management systems with guidance from management.

Improvement / Innovation
Identifies shortcomings, then suggests and implements improvements to existing business practices, while developing and delivering projects or a work stream within the organization’s change management program with guidance from management.

Identifies shortcomings, suggests improvements and implements approved revisions to current compliance processes, systems and procedures within assigned unit and/or discipline.

Manage relationships with key customers and act as their business partner, while typically using support teams to ensure client satisfaction.

Budgeting & Costing
Takes responsibility for delivering a prescribed budget for own area of the organization and/or conducts complex analyses on budget progress in other areas while working within established systems.

Contract Management
Manages and delivers required outcomes for a portfolio of contracts and negotiates service level agreements while planning, coordinating and supervising activities related to major contracts.

External Communications
Executes a communications plan by working within established communication systems and procedures.
Project Management
Manages and delivers required outcomes for a portfolio of projects while reporting to management.

Strategic Planning
Delivers prescribed outcomes for area of responsibility by working within established strategic planning systems.

Qualifications
  • ​A recognized University Degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology or Equivalent.
  • Industry related certification and professional membership e.g. CCNA, MCSE will be an added advantage.
Experience
​Work Experience
At least 6 years post qualification experience in ICT environment including IT Enterprise Infrastructure, Risk management & Networking, of which 3 years should have been at supervisory level.

Managerial Experience
At least 3 years at supervisory level.
