The Botswana Teaching Professionals Council (BOTEPCO) is a regulatory body established through the provisions of the Botswana Teaching Professionals Council Act. No. 22 of 2019. The Council’s main functions are to regulate the teaching profession; maintain profession al a nd ethical standards including teaching knowledge, skills and competence; license teachers; establish, publish, review and maintain a code of ethics for teachers; and review as well as advise on professional standards of teachers.

FINANCE 5 PROCUREMENT DEPARTMENT
Role Purpose
To capture, process, and reconcile accounting transactions and information strictly in accordance with laid down accounting procedures, standards, and accounting schedules and to ensure an accurate and timely record of financial transactions to facilitate the timely preparation of financial statements and reports.
Key Performance Areas
- Accuracy and adherence to accounting timetables and schedules.
- Compliance with financial and accounting regulations, systems, and procedures.
- Minimal audit queries
The main duties include but are not limited to:
- Receive, process and capture accounting documentation according to laid down procedures, ensuring accuracy, identifies anomalies and takes appropriate action, including seeking advice to resolve queries.
- Check to ensure that accounting entries have the necessary supporting documentation.
and that all transactions (e.g.: vouchers, purchase orders. Inter-branch transfers.
statements, etc.) are properly authorised in accordance with procedures and levels of authority
- Maintain files, registers, records, vouchers, etc., ensuring that they are properly Indexed, cross referenced, opens new files as directed.
- Prepare and reconcile accounts as directed and assists in the preparation of reports and statements. Reconciles postings to subsidiary records and trial balances entries.
- Prepare financial information and documentation for batching and enters batches into computer systems, checks and reconciles entries against audit rolls and other control mechanisms
- Check, reconcile and match documentation for the payment of creditors.
- Initiate system payments for authorization
- Receive monies and issues receipts in accordance with procedures, prepares receipts for banking and ensures that receipts are credited to appropriate accounts
- Liaise with HR on payroll queries and resolves queries.
- Liaise with banks on direct payroll payments to ensure that employees are paid accurately and on time.
- Receive adjustments to payroll from HR and batch adjustments.
- Prepare monthly management accounts to facilitate decision making and reflect an accurate position of the Council’s finances and accounts.
- Assist in answering audit queries related to reporting on actual budget and forecast expenditure and revenue.
- Liaise with IT on data records and related system constraints

Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related fields and part qualification of an internationally recognised institution of professional accountants such as ACCA, CIMA, BICA. ICAEW. ICAS. ACPAor equivalent.
- A minimum of two (2) years proven financial experience
