Reporting to the Foreman Electrical, the Artisan Electrician will be responsible for carrying out inspections, installations, electrical system operations and maintenance to ensure optimal performance, efficiency and safety in the area of responsibility in order to achieve underground mining production targets.
Key Responsibilities
- Electrical maintenance and repairs
- Facilitation of shutdowns
- Warehouse requisitions
- Legal compliance
- Safety, health and environmental compliance
Requirements
- BGCSE or equivalent qualification plus a valid Trade certificate in electrical field.
- Minimum of 5 years’ post qualification experience in mining environment.
- Power generation and distribution, and network switching knowledge.
- At least 3 years minimum experience on DC Double Drum Winders.
- Experience in an underground mining environment will be an added advantage.
- Drivers License – Class B.
