Reporting to the Maintenance Coordinator – Mechanical, the Artisan Rigger will carry out safe lifting and movement of loads and plant machinery and inspecting and servicing lifting equipment including winding equipment.
Key Responsibilities
- Rigging and scaffold services
- Maintenance of mechanical equipment
- Statutory inspections and load tests on all rigging and lifting equipment
- Operates mine machinery
- Safety, health and environment
Requirements
- BGCSE or equivalent qualification plus a valid Trade certificate in Rigging.
- Minimum 5 years’ practical experience, with at least 3 years in a mining environment or heavy industrial plant environment, including inspection of equipment.
- At least 3 years minimum experience on DC Double Drum Winders.
- Experience in performing front ends and back ends winder rope inspections.
- Knowledge of lifting/rigging equipment.
- Truck crane operation – added advantage.
- Mobile crane operation – added advantage.
- Experience in working on winder ropes.
- Valid Driver’s License – Class B.
