Key Responsibilities
- Arranges for election of Village Development Committees (VDC) and inspection of assets.
- Supervises the management and utilization of Village Development Committees (VDC) resources.
- Promotes and arranges for the formation of local committees, Non-Governmental Organizations, Community Based Organizations and other community structures.
- Assembles communities for the formation of cultural groups and encourages conservation of their culture.
- Undertakes advocacy activities to enhance participation in community development programmes and projects.
- Educates communities on community development Acts and policies.
- Trains communities on required skills to facilitate execution of identified projects.
- Guides local communities in the identification and prioritization of development projects in their area.
- Mobilizes communities to develop and implement area specific community development plans and programmes.
- Prepares and implements community development plans for the area of operation.
- Analyzes and determines the magnitude of the community problems requiring high level intervention and refers them accordingly.
- Conducs periodic visits to ongoing community projects to support and monitor implementation.
- Prepares and submit periodic performance reports on community development activities
- Collects data for feasibility studies for proposed development projects
- Maintains a database for community development activities in area of operation.
