Key Responsibilities

  • Contribute to teaching within the department/School which include curriculum development, course designs, module planning and innovation in content delivery and lecturing.
  • Prepare and coordinate various teaching and examination schedule as assigned by supervisor.
  • Participate in regular review of both undergraduate and graduate programmes.
  • Pursue multi-disciplinary research and innovation research programmes and involving junior staff and graduate student in these programmes.
  • Develop and maintain an active research programme, evidenced by developing research funding proposals, publications in peer reviewed ISI (or equivalent) journals, presenting research results at national and international academic forums and seeking research collaboration and partnership with other Universities.
  • Supervise research projects of undergraduate and postgraduate students including doctoral students and supervise post-doctoral researchers.
  • Promote and develop social responsibility and awareness among students through community service programmes and implementing community engagements programmes.
  • Develop and maintain an international profile and promote the work of the department at a national and international level.
  • Participate in the development and review of academic processes, systems and procedures as well as short-and-long term plans and budget of the department.
  • Serve in Departmental, School and University statutory boards and committees as appointed by the relevant authorities.

Requirements

  • A PhD or equivalent in Computer Science, Digital Forensics, Cyber Security, Data Science, Software Engineering or Artificial Intelligence (AI).
  • Preferred Areas: Cyber Security; Network Security; Web Application Security; Cryptography; Digital Forensics (including Mobile, Multimedia & Cloud Forensics); IOT Security & Privacy; Secure Software Development / Security by Design; Cloud Computing & Cloud Security; Data Analytics & Machine Learning (incl. Pattern Recognition); Databases & Data Management.
  • Registration with the appropriate professional body where applicable.
  • At least six (6) years of post-doctoral experience in either teaching/lecturing/research or industry in the relevant field or discipline. At least four (4) of which must be in Graduate supervision including successful doctoral students.
  • A sustained and recent record of peer-reviewed publication and other research output over at least a six (6) year period with minimum sixteen (16) peer-reviewed ISI journal publication.
  • Experience in obtaining external research/consultancy funding.
  • Own specialisation to enable the development of new knowledge, innovation and understanding within the field.
  • Prepare and submit research proposals and supervise research projects and graduate students.
  • Synthesise information to design learning experiences.
  • Innovative teaching and delivery methods.
  • Academic discipline and Higher Education environment.
  • Research Methodology.
