We are looking for an experienced, reliable and detail-oriented Bookkeeper / Accounts Administrator to take responsibility for the day-to-day financial administration of our business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Recording and maintaining daily financial transactions
  • Maintaining accurate bookkeeping and accounting records
  • Managing accounts payable and accounts receivable
  • Reconciling bank accounts, supplier accounts and financial records
  • Preparing and filing VAT returns and tax-related documentation
  • Maintaining ongoing tax and statutory compliance
  • Managing and reconciling petty cash
  • Preparing and sending customer statements
  • Following up with customers regarding outstanding accounts and payments
  • Processing and allocating customer payments
  • Maintaining well-organised financial records and supporting documentation
  • Preparing records and schedules for the company’s accountants, auditors and tax consultants
  • Assisting management with financial information and reports when required

Requirements

  • Has a minimum of 7 years’ proven experience in bookkeeping and accounts administration
  • Is highly proficient and well-versed in QuickBooks, with solid practical experience using the software for day-to-day bookkeeping and financial administration
  • Has a good working knowledge of VAT, taxation and Botswana financial compliance requirements
  • Is competent in spreadsheets and general financial administration
  • Has strong reconciliation and numerical skills
  • Is accurate, organised and highly attentive to detail
  • Can work independently and take ownership of deadlines
  • Is confident following up professionally on outstanding customer payments
  • Understands the importance of confidentiality, integrity and accountability
  • Has good written and verbal communication skills
