The Bookkeeper / Accounts Assistant will manage the Company’s day-to-day bookkeeping and help ensure its financial records remain accurate, complete and up to date. Key responsibilities will include transaction processing, invoicing, accounts payable and receivable, bank and account reconciliations, payroll support, financial administration, supporting statutory submissions and assisting with month-end and year-end accounting and reporting activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Invoicing & Accounts Receivable | Prepare and issue customer invoices accurately and within required timelines. Maintain debtor accounts and monitor outstanding balances.
  • Accounts Payable | Capture, verify and process supplier invoices. Reconcile supplier statements to accounting records. Maintain accurate creditor accounts and payment schedules. Respond to supplier queries and resolve invoice or payment discrepancies.
  • Bank & Account Reconciliations | Perform regular bank, cash and other account reconciliations. Reconcile debtor and creditor control accounts. Ensure accounting records agree with bank statements and supporting documentation.
  • Financial Reporting & Administration | Assist in preparing monthly financial schedules and reports. Provide general administrative support to the finance function as required.
  • Broader Finance Support | Support payroll processing and reconciliations, maintain appropriate supporting documentation, and assist with the preparation of VAT, PAYE and other statutory submissions. Assist Management with month-end and year-end accounting activities.

Requirements

  • Certificate, Diploma or Degree in Accounting, Finance, Bookkeeping or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of three (3) years’ relevant experience in an accounting or finance role. Practical working experience in the tourism industry, and working with Xero accounting software, is highly preferred.
