The Botswana Institute for Development Policy Analysis (BIDPA) is an independent trust set up by a Presidential Directive. It started operations in 1995 as a non-government policy research institute. BIDPA focuses mainly on Research and Policy Analysis and Capacity building in policy analysis. The focus of BIDPA work is informed by the Institute’s mandate as defined in the deed of trust that formed the institution.

BIDPA seeks to recruit qualified and self driven individuals for the following positions:
- RESEARCH FELLOW- MACROECONOMICS & DEVELOPMENT
- RESEARCH FELLOW – TRADE, INDUSTRY & PRIVATE SECTOR DEVELOPMENT
Main Purpose of the Job: To complete research and consultancy assignments in accordance with client expectations, within agreed deadlines and budget.
EDUCATION AND EXPERINCE:
- Research Fellow – Macroeconomics & Development
Should have a Master’s or PhD degree in Economics (or equivalent), with specialisation in Macroeconomics.
KNOWLEDGE, ATTRIBUTES AND SKILLS:
- Good understanding of theoretical economic concepts, research methodology and statistical methods
- Ability to write and present research reports clearly and concisely for both technical and non-technical audiences
- Good communication and report writing skills
- Computer literacy
- Ability to work within a team.
REMUNERATION
Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and work experience.
TENURE
BIDPA offers appointment on contract duration of up to 5 years with a possibility of renewal on successful completion.
Applicants with a Master’s degree should have at least four (4) years post Master’s degree work experience and a good publication record.

Should have a Master’s or PhD degree in Economics (or equivalent), with specialization in International Trade, Microeconomics.
