We are seeking a highly experienced Chief Pilot – Helicopter Operations to lead and grow our helicopter division in the Okavango Delta. This is a rare opportunity to build and shape a premium helicopter operation from the ground up, combining hands-on flying with leadership, mentoring, and operational oversight in one of the world’s most iconic aviation environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Overall responsibility for safe, compliant helicopter operations
- Lead and mentor pilots
- Scenic flights and transfers in a high-end tourism environment
- Compliance with Botswana CAA regulations, SOPs, and SMS
- Oversight of occasional MedEvac flights
- Work closely with management on procedures, systems, and growth
Requirements
- 2,000+ hrs PIC (Helicopter)
- 250+ hrs PIC on turbine helicopters (Bell 206 preferred)
- Bell 206 JetRanger & R44 ratings
- 2-3 years operational experience in the Okavango Delta
- Valid CPL(H) and Class 1 Medical
- Strong leadership and decision-making skills
- Citizens or residents (Advantageous)
- Instructor Rating (JetRanger experience preferred) (Advantageous)
- Experience building or scaling helicopter operations (Advantageous)
- Strong mentoring background (Advantageous)
