Civil Engineering Intern (2 positions)

Role Purpose
To assist the Project Manager in managing the project process effectively and efficiently, reporting directly to the Project Manager.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assigned the responsibilities to assist the Project Manager to manage the project process.
  • Assist the Project Manager in managing the project process effectively and efficiently by planning, leading, organizing, coordinating and controlling.
  • Perform the assigned responsibilities effectively and efficiently by complying with the implemented organization Integrated Quality Management System (IQMS) requirements.
  • Assist the Project Manager to manage the project process in a cross-functional manner, ensuring interrelation with other departments of the organization.
  • Maintain an appropriate project environment necessary for the operation of the project process.
  • Support, guide and facilitate the project artisans through the project process.
  • Effectively resolve issues and manage risks.
  • To minimize organizational disruption during the execution of the project.
  • Report daily performance of the assigned responsibilities to the Project Manager in accordance with the organization Integrated Quality Management System.
  • Keeping abreast of industry design standards, conditions of Contracts, regulations and statutory requirements to ensure compliance.

Requirements

  • Minimum of Diploma in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering and Management or related from a recognized university.
  • Be proficient with the complete Microsoft Office Suite of products.
  • Good understanding of environment, community, occupational health and safety statutory and regulatory requirements and procedures.
  • Strong analytical skills using process approach and risk-based thinking. Knowledge of specifications applicable to the construction industry.
  • Ability to manage people in a dynamic and uncertain environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and quality.
  • Originating in Boteti Region.
  • Ability to work under pressure and have good time management.
  • Ability to balance the project’s competing demands (scope, time, cost and quality) in order to meet or exceed stakeholders’ needs and expectations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
