Works under the Innovation and Technology Coordinator to develop and advise on clean innovations and technologies through technology readiness levels towards commercialization. This includes building effective ecosystems of key stakeholders and expertise between government, academia and private sector to ensure that clean technologies and related initiatives contribute to climate change initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in implementing project identification and management initiatives to support the development of the clean technology and sustainable energy sector.
- Provide technical support to BDIH registered clients thereby assisting in the implementation of key clean technology projects that support the development of the clean technology cluster.
- Conduct field surveys for key clean technology projects to gather information required for efficient and effective project management.
- Develop an integrated database for clean technology companies and projects to ensure effective records management.
- Liaise (and maintain active relationships) with key stakeholders to support the identification and implementation of new projects in the cluster.
- Organise regular meeting of key stakeholders and provide secretarial support to ensure the development of strong partnerships.
- Assist in evaluating and assessing potential clean technology initiatives for innovation funding opportunities.
Requirements
- Degree in Mining, Engineering (electrical & electronics and/or mechanical & energy) or related fields.
- Registration with Botswana Engineers Registration Board or equivalent.
- Additional certifications in Project Management.
- At least 5 years’ proven experience in clean technologies or renewable energy environment.
- Understanding of local environmental policies and regulations.
- Knowledge of clean technologies and their applications.
- Experience in project management related to clean technology projects.
