The Clerk of Works will be responsible for ensuring quality assurance, timely intervention of technical issues, and oversee the delivery of the construction project work in accordance with the Client’s requirements. The incumbent will be inspecting the workmanship and quality of work at the construction site, monitoring compliance with health, safety, environmental and social safeguards on-site, and report back to Management Team and or the Mechanical / Project Engineer.

Key Responsibilities

  • Inspecting materials, workmanship, and construction processes to ensure they meet the required standards and specifications.
  • Ensuring that construction activities adhere to relevant regulations, codes, and guidelines set by authorities and the client.
  • Maintaining detailed records of construction activities, including daily reports, progress updates, and any issues encountered.
  • Acting as a liaison between contractors, subcontractors, architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to convey project requirements and ensure smooth coordination.
  • Identifying issues or discrepancies during construction and working with the project team to resolve them promptly.
  • Monitoring construction progress, identifying delays, and reporting on project milestones to ensure timely completion.
  • Promoting and enforcing safety standards on the construction site to prevent accidents and ensuring a secure working environment for all workers.
  • Coordinating and overseeing testing and inspections of materials, structures, and installations to verify compliance with specifications.
  • Identifying and documenting defects or incomplete work (snags) for rectification before project handover.
  • Assisting in the project handover process by verifying that all work is completed as per specifications and facilitating any necessary documentation.
