Job Title: Community Liaison

Job Purpose:
The Community Liaison Officer serves as the primary link between Chobe Impact and the communities in which it operates, ensuring it’s visibility and active presence at the community level. This role is responsible for building trust, fostering positive relationships, promoting mutual understanding, and supporting community development initiatives funded by Chobe.
Key Responsibilities
- Establish and maintain strong, trust-based relationships with community leaders, local organizations, and key stakeholders.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for community inquiries, concerns, and feedback.
- Facilitate open dialogue between Chobe Impact and communities to promote transparency and mutual trust.
- Keep constant communication with community leadership, providing timely feedback on project implementation and administrative matters.
- Organize and coordinate community meetings, forums, and outreach programs.
- Support the design and implementation of community development projects funded or supported by Chobe Impact.
- Encourage active community participation in Chobe’s initiatives and decision-making processes.
- Work with communities to identify needs and possible interventions.
- Actively participate in community activities and meetings.
- Provide support to Chobe Impact partners working in the community.
- Clearly communicate organizational policies, projects, and initiatives to community stakeholders.
- Represent Chobe Impact at community events, workshops, and public forums.
- Advocate for community needs within the organization to ensure inclusive and sustainable practices.
- Collect and analyze feedback from communities regarding organizational activities and initiatives.
- Prepare regular reports on community engagement outcomes, challenges, and opportunities.
- Monitor the social impact of projects and recommend improvements to enhance effectiveness.
- Monitor implementation of community projects.
- Prepare monthly reports and weekly updates.
Requirements
- Diploma in Community development or related field.
- Must have a good working knowledge of the Microsoft Productivity Tools inter alia Outlook, Word, Excel.
- Good understanding of community structures and their socio-economic dynamics.
- Experience working with NGOs, government agencies, or corporate social responsibility programs is an advantage.
- 3 years’ experience in similar role.
