Key Responsibilities
- A) Cost Control & Budgeting: Monitor cost-centre expenditure against approved budgets. Support budgeting through accurate cost input and analysis. Ensure adherence to cost governance and financial controls.
- B) Cost Analysis & Reporting: Perform cost and benefit analysis to support profitability decisions. Analyse cost trends and variances and recommend corrective actions. Produce accurate, timely cost reports for stakeholders.
- C) Financial Accounting & Month-End: Process journals, accruals, and cost reallocations. Support period-end close and financial reporting. Ensure adherence to reporting deadlines.
- D) Cost Systems & Data Integrity: Maintain cost centre databases and financial data accuracy. Review reconciliations and ensure integrity of financial records. Support efficient and effective transactional processes.
- E) Asset & Inventory Accounting: Maintain fixed asset register, including acquisitions and disposals. Support year-end fixed asset schedules. Review inventory costs, coordinate stock counts, and resolve variances.
- F) Stakeholder Support: Build and maintain relationships with internal customers. Provide cost insights and financial support to operational teams.
Requirements
- Fully qualified CA/ACCA/CIMA/Degree in Accounting or related field/AAT with relevant experience.
- Minimum of 2 years (Professional Qualification route)/5 years (degree/AAT route) relevant experience.
- Membership to BICA or relevant professional body (advantageous).
- Knowledge of cost accounting principles and financial systems.
