DATABASE, UNIX-LINUX ADMINISTRATOR (5 Year Contract)

The main purpose of this role is to ensure the design, development, and administration of secure, high-performing enterprise databases and data architecture to support the organization’s digital transformation journey and strategic decision-making. The Database Administrator will manage mission-critical data platforms that power core business systems, enable enterprise analytics, and support modern workloads such as Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Business Intelligence (BI).

Key performances areas

• Database Design and Development: Design, implement, and optimize relational and NoSQL databases to meet business and technical requirements, including support for AI and analytics workloads.
• Enterprise Data Architecture: Develop and maintain the enterprise data architecture framework to ensure consistency, scalability, and interoperability of data across systems.
• Performance and Optimization: Monitor and optimize database performance, availability, and scalability to support mission-critical operations.
• Backup and Recovery: Implement and maintain robust backup strategies, disaster recovery plans, and business continuity measures for all enterprise databases.
• Data Security: Enforce strong database access controls, encryption, and compliance with data protection regulations to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of data.
• Support to BI and Analytics: Enable and support data analytics, reporting, and BI platforms by ensuring optimized data models, data quality, and reliable data feeds.

Qualifications & Experience

The candidates should have attained the following:
• Bachelor Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in Data Governance, Enterprise database administration, development of Enterprise Data warehouses/Data lakes, and Enterprise Data Architectures.
• Hands on experience of containerization and orchestration tools (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Experience in supporting AI-driven environments, including databases used for Agentic AI systems and Large Language Model (LLM) inference and training.
• Proven track record in designing and managing scalable data architectures and high-volume, high-availability environments.
• Professional Certifications in database platforms (Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, PostgreSQL) and/or cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) are a strong advantage.
