Beyond revenue generation, BURS plays a critical role in facilitating legitimate trade, protecting Botswana's borders from prohibited goods, and combating illicit financial flows. It also collects non-tax revenue on behalf of other government departments, consolidating financial oversight. Through these integrated efforts, BURS is vital in funding public services and contributing to the sustainable economic development of Botswana.
