Are you a highly driven and talented Executive Chef with a passion for delivering extraordinary culinary experiences? We are seeking a dynamic Group Executive Chef to lead the culinary operations across five premium lodges in the heart of Botswana’s Okavango Delta.
The Executive Chef will be responsible for overseeing all culinary operations across our five lodges, ensuring consistency, quality, and creativity in each dish. This is a leadership role that requires extensive experience, strong management skills, and a deep commitment to enhancing the guest experience through exquisite dining. The role is based in a remote setting, requiring flexibility and an adventurous spirit.
Key Responsibilities
- Culinary Leadership: Lead and inspire culinary teams across 5 lodges, fostering a collaborative environment and ensuring that all chefs and kitchen staff maintain the highest standards of food preparation and presentation.
- Menu Development & Innovation: Design seasonal and regionally inspired menus that align with our luxury brand and cater to the discerning tastes of our international guests.
- Quality & Consistency: Maintain a consistent level of excellence in food quality, presentation, and taste across all lodges.
- Training & Development: Mentor and train culinary teams, emphasizing skills development, teamwork, and adherence to culinary best practices.
- Operational Management: Oversee kitchen operations, including budgeting, cost control, and procurement, ensuring that all lodges are well-stocked and efficient.
- Health & Safety Compliance: Ensure that all kitchens adhere to health and safety regulations, maintaining the highest standards of hygiene and sanitation.
Requirements
- Minimum 7 years of experience as an Executive Chef, ideally with multi-property or remote lodge experience.
- Proven track record in luxury hospitality, with a passion for creating unforgettable dining experiences.
- Exceptional leadership and communication skills, with the ability to inspire and manage a diverse team.
- Strong financial acumen and experience in budgeting, cost control, and inventory management.
- Highly adaptable, resilient, and comfortable living in remote settings for extended periods.
- A deep appreciation for sustainability and using local ingredients to create authentic, high-quality cuisine.
