Role Purpose:
Skip Hire, one of the country’s leading refuse companies seeks the services of a highly skilled and competent person for the position above.
Key Responsibilities
- Responsible for operating a variety of water & waste management vehicles to collect and transport water, waste and recycling materials to disposal or storage facilities.
- Ability to safely operate mechanism for loading, compressing, and dumping refuse and recyclable materials.
- Assures that assigned truck is properly fuelled, equipped, lubricated, and serviced
- Washes interior and exterior of assigned truck and reports needed repairs immediately.
- Maintain safe and efficient operation of water & waste collection and transport equipment and vehicles.
- Perform pre-trip/ post-trip vehicle inspections and complete daily work sheet for equipment operated.
- Complete daily work orders efficiently & record information accordingly, and keep work location in order.
- Knowledge of – traffic laws involved in equipment operations; safe operations of and safety precautions necessary in operation of equipment, including various types of water & waste collection trucks.
- Ability to – communicate effectively orally and in writing; understand and carry out written and oral instructions.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with supervisors, fellow employees, and the public.
Requirements
- Senior Secondary school completion (BGCSE / IGCSE)
- Minimum of 5 years Extra heavy-duty driving experience with a reputable company
- Class EC driver’s license
- PRDP – Goods & Hazardous
- Outstanding driving and mechanics skills.
- Sound knowledge of waste management is an advantage
- Diligent with great attention to detail
- Interpersonal skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
