Farm Labourer supports the cultivation, maintenance, and harvesting of horticultural crops. The role ensures that farming operations are carried out efficiently, safely, and in line with agricultural best practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Support irrigation system setup and maintenance.
- Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of farming areas.
- Operate basic farm tools and equipment safely and responsibly.
- Harvest crops, sort, and prepare produce for storage or market.
- Monitor crops for pests, diseases, and report issues to supervisors.
- Assist in planting, transplanting, and cultivating horticultural crops.
- Perform routine farm tasks such as watering, weeding, pruning, and fertilizing.
- Execute any other morally reasonable assignments to meet the exigencies of service.
Requirements
- Minimum of PSLE.
- Minimum of two years’ experience in a horticultural set-up.
- Basic knowledge of horticultural practices.
- Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team.
- Attention to detail and willingness to learn new farming techniques.
- Physical stamina and ability to perform manual labour outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Prior experience in farming or gardening is an advantage.
