The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe, accurate, and high-quality application of sprayed concrete (shotcrete) in underground mining environments. This role supports ground stability and safety in accordance with mine support standards and operational procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate mechanised shotcrete equipment underground
- Ensure correct spray thickness and compliance with engineering specifications
- Conduct hazard identification and risk assessments
- Maintain equipment and report faults
- Adhere strictly to mine safety and environmental regulations
Requirements
- Trade Test (Millwright preferred)
- Certified Shotcrete/Concrete Spray Operator (advantageous)
- 2-5 years underground shotcrete experience
- Experience in mechanised underground mining environments
- Strong understanding of ground support and geotechnical standards
- Medically fit for underground work
- High safety awareness and compliance discipline
- Strong safety record
- Ability to work in confined underground environments
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
- Ability to obtain underground mine health and safety clearance
- Suitably qualified Botswana citizens meeting all the requirements will be given preference
