Corporate Guarantee and Insurance Company of Botswana is a newly established insurance provider specializing in ART insurance, positioned to bring fresh thinking, reliable cover, and excellent service to the market. We’re looking for a visionary and driven General Manager to lead our operations and drive our mission forward. As the General Manager, you will oversee the full spectrum of the company’s operations and play a critical role in launching, growing, and positioning our brand in the Botswana insurance market. This is a unique leadership opportunity for a seasoned professional eager to shape a new company from the ground up.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide strategic leadership and day-to-day management across all business functions.
- Drive the development and execution of operational plans, ensuring alignment with long-term goals.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with regulators, brokers, and other key stakeholders.
- Oversee compliance with all regulatory and legal requirements.
- Build and lead a high-performing team and foster a strong company culture.
- Monitor company performance, manage budgets, and report to the managing director.
- Identify growth opportunities and support the rollout of innovative insurance products.
Requirements
- Minimum of 10 years ART insurance experience of which a minimum 5 years must have been in a leadership role.
- Holds a professional qualification at minimum NQF Level 7 preferably with a focus on financial services.
- Strong knowledge of insurance operations, governance, and compliance.
- Experience in a start-up or business launch environment is highly advantageous.
- Proven leadership, communication, and team-building skills.
- Strategic mindset with strong business acumen and a hands-on approach.
