GENERATOR ENGINEER

We are looking for a Generator engineer with experience in installation, repairs, maintenance and servicing of Diesel generators, Solar systems, and UPS’s.

The ideal candidates will have 3+ years of experience working with commercial and large industrial power generators.
The candidate should be reliable, self-supervised, able to work under pressure in a fast paced environment, and able to drive long distances.

The primary duties of the engineer include performing diagnostic tests on equipment to find faults, analyzing diagnostic test results and repairing or replacing system components.

The engineer needs to be highly organized and communicate effectively, as they will be expected to maintain detailed records of serviced equipment and interact with customers on a daily basis.

Core Responsibilities:
• Run load bank tests on generators.
• Diagnose and repair any issues found during initial testing.
• Perform voltage changes on generators based on customer requirements.
• Re-wire, adjust and install control panels and voltage regulators.
• Adjust speed controls and various settings.
• Change filters and perform standard service on units.
• Work closely with the Workshop Manager on project progress, estimates, etc.
• Properly log issues on Job cards, detailed site reports and adheres to office policies.
• Assist with other duties as required.

Requirements:
• In-depth understanding of diesel engine and/or generator technology.
• Ideal candidates will have 3+ years of experience working with commercial and large industrial power generators.
• Ability to diagnose and repair mechanical issues on gensets.
• Exceptional communication skills to work with team and customers directly on occasion.
• Proficient with estimating time required to complete tasks and punctual.
• Degree or diploma in mechanical or electrical engineering.
• 3.5 minimum GPA requirement.
• ERB Certification advantageous.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Physically fit, able to lift heavy items and drive long distances.
• Proficiency with maintenance and repair tools.
• Attention to detail.
• Good interpersonal skills.
• Excellent verbal communication skills.
